The public and private maintenance dredging was managed by the City of Anacortes and included:
- Fairway and access channel dredging
- Covered slip dredging
- Limited access area dredging
- Under dock dredging
- Upland and open water disposal
DOF provided the following services:
- Assisted in obtaining permits
- Developed an entrance channel design that provided necessary safe access to the marina while reducing eel grass impacts
- Assisted in development of contracting and implementation approach for public and multiple private owners
- Prepared DMMO sediment Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP), collected field samples for DMMO characterization as well as dredgeability analysis (physical characteristics) and prepared Sediment Characterization Report
- Completed dredging and disposal design for multiple dredging conditions
- Prepared plans, specifications and costs estimates
- Assisted with contractor selection
- Acted as the City’s representative for the project during construction
- Provided quality assurance that Contractor was meeting construction specifications, documented by daily reports and photos of the construction
- Coordinated vessel shifts with the contractor and multiple private owners to maintain clear work areas
- Held weekly project meeting to resolve issues and coordinate between marina owners and contractor
- Reviewed progress payment requests
- Prepared project closeout document
