Dalton, Olmsted & Fuglevand, Inc. (DOF) is a civil engineering and environmental remediation consulting firm with offices in Washington and Oregon with an emphasis on upland, shoreline, and marine contaminated site cleanup and restoration. We perform site characterization; remedy option evaluations; engineering design; preparation of construction plans, drawings, and specifications; and construction oversight and management for our clients.


We are a small firm that does big work. DOF has worked on and continues to work on some of the most significant sediment remediation projects in the US where you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced sediment remediation team.


The successful candidate should be proactive, motivated, and technically knowledgeable in complex sediment remediation design approach and implementation methods. You will be responsible for leading or supporting engineering tasks and project management to support our current portfolio of sediment remediation projects that include remedial design, construction management, design report development, and supporting in-water and shoreline field investigations. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative team where roles may vary day to day to meet the needs of a particular project and our clients. 

 Required Qualifications

  • MS or BS in Civil, Environmental or Coastal Engineering
  • 4-12 years of experience
  • Oregon or Washington PE or ability to obtain licensure
  • Experience with field data collection and evaluation for complex remediation sites
  • Experience preparing engineering plans and specifications
  • Experience preparing site investigation studies or design reports for sites regulated under federal RCRA or CERCLA programs and/or state environmental agencies (e.g. Washington DOE, Oregon DEQ, California DTSC or RWQCB)
  • Available during business work and hours, with an average work week of 40 hours and flexibility for earlier starting times and later ending times, as well as occasional off shift work during field projects which require it. Ability to travel, as necessitated by project-specific needs, when required.
  • US Citizen

The position will require occasional fieldwork, and candidate must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 


Salary Range:
$85,000 - $145,000. An employee’s total compensation package includes an annual salary, company-paid (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan with company contribution of up to 15% of additional yearly compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid time off and holidays, and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.


Office – Hybrid Position
Candidate will be associated with our Seattle, WA, Bremerton, WA, Leavenworth WA, Portland, OR office, expected to generally work in the office 2 days per week and remotely otherwise.  Alternate arrangements may be possible commensurate with experience. Travel to meetings, projects sites and professional events is anticipated commensurate with the position.
